Outstanding Faculty
The SOM faculty is well known for its quality research and teaching skills. SOM classes are taught only by tenure
track PhD’s or professionally qualified instructors. Master’s degree students do not teach in SOM, so your instructor
will always be an expert in his or her field.
Culturally diverse student population
Binghamton is nationally recognized for the diversity of its student population and the support services it offers
to its American and International students. Students from over 85 countries are represented at BU. The School of Management
has several student run organizations serving different ethnicities (although culturally focused, they are open to any SOM student
and are themselves quite diverse) and many other campus wide student groups serve the greater Binghamton University population.
Leading edge resources
The School houses the Zurack Trading Room where top students manage a portfolio of over $130,000 using the same trading software
used by Wall Street professionals. We are a wireless campus where you can use your laptop computer just about anywhere. In addition,
there are hundreds of computers in campus computer pods accessible by students 24-7. A new Linux Laboratory allows our Management Information
Systems students and their counterparts in the Computer Science program in the Watson School to assist local businesses in solving
real world business problems using open source technologies.
