General Program Requirements
The combined degree program provides Watson undergraduate students with the opportunity to complete their BS degree and MBA degree within five years. In order to complete this program, students will be required to take three core MBA courses during the junior and/or senior year. Upon completion of their senior year, students receive their BS degree. In the fifth year they are officially admitted to the MBA program.
How Do I Apply?
Students apply to the combined degree program in their junior year. Typically, admission eligibility requires a minimum GMAT score of 600, along with a GPA in excess of 3.0. During their senior year, students will take three MBA courses (MGMT 501, 502, 505). These courses will be applied towards fulfilling the technical and/or professional elective component of the engineering undergraduate program. At the end of the senior year, students graduate with a BS degree and are then officially admitted into the MBA program (In order to advance to the MBA program, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout their senior year and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all management coursework).
How Do I Obtain Advising?
As a general plan, students should take most of their required courses by the end of their junior year of study. They should leave room in their senior-year schedule to take the three required MBA courses mentioned above. Based upon the technical components of the undergraduate curriculum, students will automatically be waived from 12 credit hours of graduate elective coursework. Additionally, depending on the specific curriculum, students may be waived from some of the MBA core courses due to the level of mathematics, science, and technical knowledge required within the accredited engineering and computer science majors.
