Graduate
Assistantships
The School of
Management awards approximately 18 assistantships to masters students
each year. Assistantships entail recipients working with faculty
for 10 hours per week either as a teaching or research assistant in return
for a half tution scholarship and an average stipend of $4,140 per academic
year. Recipients also receive health insurance benefits.
Graduate
assistants (GAs) complete research and/or provide administrative aid within
their graduate discipline. Teaching assistants (TAs) provide some type
of classroom support, either by teaching, leading discussion sections,
grading, or preparing classroom materials. The School of Management awards assistantships based on a combination of GMAT, TOEFL and educational and
professional experience. Graduate/Teaching assistants are expected to
work approximately 10 hours per week throughout the semester.
New applicants
may apply for a graduate/teaching assistantship by checking the appropriate
box on the graduate application form. Current students wishing to be considered
for available assistantships should submit a resume and cover letter to
the associate dean.
Continuation of
funding is dependent upon the student's meeting the conditions set in
the original terms and conditions of appointment. The deadline for applying
for a fall position is May 15; the deadline for applying for a spring
position is November 15.
