Current legal policies and ethical issues related to topics such as allocation of scarce resources, access to patient information, and cost containment. Roles and responsibilities of various individuals and groups such as trustees, administrators, physicians and ethics committees. Effect of the legal system on the development of health care policy and delivery.

MGMT 589D - Health Care Economics and Finance (4 credits)
Relation of principles of health care economics to current trends in the field. Role of health insurance and cost reimbursement programs. Cost containment, regulation and competition. Economics of alternative delivery systems.

MGMT 597 - Health Care Consulting Project (4 credits)
